Owning several RAB pieces I am in no way surprised by the quality of this jacket. Very warm, very light, solid RAB construction. For reference I am 6' tall and 190lb, athletic build, about a 34-35" waist and 41" chest and went with the large. Perfect fit allowing me to wear a RAB or Montane fleece under the jacket when needed but not too big if just wearing a light base-layer or t-shirt. Compresses down to nothing so you can stuff it in your pack and never know it is there. Two notes that I feel are important. The front hand warmer pockets are great until you reach the bottom of the pocket closest the the hem of the jacket, there is no down insulation there so your hands get cold. The other issue is that for a jacket of this quality I would like to see a heavier weight YKK zip, the one that comes on the jacket feels a little small or weak. I have have no issue with it but thought to mention it all the same. Overall a killer jacket and if you can get it on sale, even better. Don't hesitate in picking one up.......

Light weight, warm, feels great on is how the wife describes the piece, true to size and qualify made. Best part, you can beat Campsavers price on items like this in the shed......

Runs small, I am 6' and 175-180 lbs and needed to go with the XL. Jacket feels great on, very lightweight and doesn't restrict movement. My issue is that after only wearing maybe 4-5 times there is noticeable piling of the fleece at the neck and it resembles many fleece jackets I have owner for multiple years, not weeks. Jacket is warm and great for layering but my frustration with the appearance of the fleece after just a few uses causes me to drop some starts here.

Montane makes great jackets, lots of thought to details and small features. This jacket is no exception. The Alpha insulation is in my humble opinion the best synthetic insulation you can buy: warm, compressible, highly breathable, light weight and quick drying. This jackets hits all the marks. A note on sizing: I am 6' tall and 180lbs, normally I would wear a L, but in this case I opted for the XL to allow for a light layer under the jacket. The L seems a bit tight in the arm pits and a little short at the waist. I highly recommend this jacket for both a layering piece and a stand alone jacket.

What can I say, RAB makes great gear. This jacket is no exception. Event fabric, and a fit allowing a mid-weight and a base-layer and at CampSaver prices how can you go wrong. For high output activities this jacket breathes better than my Gortex jacket. Solid jacket all-around....

Update to my previous post. Been using the jacket for a short while now and LOVE it. Top notch quality. Shed water like most of my Gortex jackets, warm and overall a great all around soft-shell from RAB. A deal at this price here at CAMPSAVER. Get one.

Great jacket. Allows for layering. I am 6' and 185, going with the L leaves room to layer or size down for a more streamlined fit. Top notch quality. Polartec is simply an amazing fabric, sheds water beautifully.

First experience with RAB. Quality is top notch. On par with any others I have tried, Marmot, Arcteryx and Patagonia.
Sizing, leaves a little to be desired. I am 6' and 184lbs. The (M) I am keeping allows for a single thin layer to be worn under the coat, but nothing more. Moving up the the (L), creates a situation where the sleeves come down past my palm to my second knuckle. The (L) also allows me to wear the largest jacket I own a 800 series North Face down jacket underneath with room to spare. If not wearing a massive amount under the (L) it looks like I am a little boy wearing his dads suit coat, just plain funny and way too much extra room. Even with a NF Denali jacket under the L I can fold the sides of the jacket over because there is so much extra material.
Very odd that there is such a gap between sizes. Almost as if the (L) I have is actually a XL and was mislabeled. Then again could simply be RAB's sizing.......either way an odd difference between the sizes.
