This is the second Whirlwind I’ve owned. This new one is a huge improvement over the old. The material feels the same, but the fit is improved (a little more snug). It is now easy to get the piece stored in the chest pocket, and the hood fits better too and is now adjustable.

I’m 5’10 155 pounds and went with the medium. It fits well.

Some observations:
The hood fits better under a helmet
I will use this mostly as a climbing layer that provides sun protection.
The material is thin and feels cool against the skin, but it takes abuse well.
This isn’t a layer I will want to take on and off. It’s more of a put it on and leave it on hoody.
I can only wear thin layers underneath it. A puffy would be too much.
I have long arms. The sleeve length seems long enough.
I’m a big fan of thumb loops, but the design on this piece doesn’t work for me.
I thought I might use it for backcountry skiing, but I realized that I prefer jackets instead of pullovers.

Overall, it’s a specialized piece for me, but it will get a lot of use in the summer.
