This is a great jacket. The closest comparison is the Marmot Precip, but this has a couple more pockets, and weighs just a bit more. It seems pretty durable, though I haven't had it long. I have only used it in light rain, so I can't really comment on how it would perform in a heavy downpour, but I stayed dry and the waterproof zippers didn't leak. It seems to breathe well, and it has nice pit zips to ventilate further. I got the XL, which is the size I take for most jackets and shirts. The fit seems pretty big, and would fit nicely over a down or fleece sweater as an outer shell. I paired this with the Precip pants (also great), and just comparing the two, the Spectra seems a bit more durable, but I don't know for sure if that is just the difference between jacket and pants or not. It packs nicely into its own pocket, and can compress even smaller with no problem. Overall, very happy.
I bought this about a month ago from Campsaver, and had an opportunity to field test it over a weekend backpacking. I can't believe how light this thing is. I was hiking with my kid, which requires me to carry most of the gear, so we didn't split up the tent, and I had no problems carrying it at all. Super light, and packs down small in a small compression bag. It is super easy to pitch, and has multiple pitch options, which is nice. I would say that this tent is on the large side of 3 person tents. It is a palace for two people, but you could fit 3 adults in there in a pinch. An adult and 2 kids, or 2 adults and 1 kid, or 2 adults and a dog would be ideal. While it didn't rain the night we used it, I have full confidence that this tent would keep us dry. It is easy to pitch, and you get a nice taut pitch. One end door is definitely better than one side door like other tents have, though 2 doors would be nice (it would probably add to the weight though).
