Used this boots on a 2-week photo trip in Iceland. It rained for 10 days. It kept my feet dry at first. However, after shooting on the beach with waves reaching me ankle deep, water starts to seep inside the soles. My socks were damp after that. I would say that these boots are waterproof but only for a certain amount of time. It does its job in the rain but this is not for wading through water.
Also, you do need to break in the boots before using it. It can be a bit stiff on the ankles and lower legs at first use.
Used this jacket on a 2-week photo trip in Iceland, and for 10 days it was raining. This jacket kept me dry and warm the whole time I was out shooting.
