Let's talk about the good things first. Fit and feel out of the box and on the trail were simply amazing. I totally dig the toe box and zero drop design of the shoe. There was enough ankle support to feel good about but not so much that it was restrictive. Now the bad news. After one 15 mile hike on the White Rock/Shores Lake Loop a tear developed on one of the boots. This is not a technical or difficult trail at all. There was quite a bit of branches, etc on the trail due to a storm the night before, but if I have to "baby" hiking boots this much it kind of defeats the purpose of them. Somebody needs to come out with a shoe that has the fit/feel/dimensions of an Altra with the durability of a Salomon or Hoka. That would be a winner!
