I’ve only been able to put it to use a couple of times in moderate winter weather (20-30F), but it has been great! I have a light long sleeve top under it and BD Dawn Patrol Touring Pants and another lightweight top over them. Kept me quite comfortable on two climbs. With a shell top, I’d be good to 0F or a little below.
I love my Rab Neutrino jacket, but when I knew it was time to replace it, I wanted something just a little more insulated. It may not be the Himalayas or a polar region, but the Whites in New England can get pretty cold when you’re camping above 4000’. I was overwhelmed by some of the differences with the Rab Andes Jacket. I love the larger, easier-to-use zippers, the fact it has about twice the down, and the pockets. I have not tried it out yet in full-blown
