I bought this because it was advertised as a matching footprint to prolong the life of the tent. It appears to be a very good quality and I think that it will work well. However, I’ve spent some time trying to figure out how to attach it to the tent with no luck. It didn’t come with instructions it’s definitely not intuitive. I’ve emailed Alps Mountaineering for their help and will update this review when I have it figured out.

I have only had a chance to assemble and test out the tent inside, however, it went together very easily and seems to have plenty of room. The extra outside room will be a big plus. I chose this for the quality, size and weight...also from a recommendation as the local Boy Scouts use another (slightly heavier) Alps Mountaineering tent and love them. I plan to use this to pack in a small airplane so packed size and weight are very important.
