My Marmot Speed Light raincoat is working out very well, so far. I like the features that make the jacket perform better in the mountains, like the wire brim, pit zips, water resistant pockets, and the movement-friendly cut. So far, very good, and I'm looking forward to getting stuck out in the rain with it often.
I know these are sock liners, but I like wool socks for work, so I buy black sock liners and get several years out of them. They look like dress socks. Feet don't get cold, nor sweaty. Mission accomplished.
I hike often and need sun protection. My other sun hat was heavy canvas, very floppy, and created a lot of heat. The Outdoor Research Sol sun hat is ventilated, very light, and has a fairly stiff brim that holds its shape, even in strong wind. My Sol sun hat will be indispensable for my mountain hikes this coming summer.
