About as solid as it gets for a pure merino tee

Written on Apr 02, 2020

For temperature/moisture/odor management, you really can't beat 100% merino wool. Durability can take a hit if that's the case, but with this tee, I've been pleased by how well it has held up. If you take some care when washing and drying the shirt, it will last.

I've taken this tee one shorter trip, as well as using it for multiple days through climbing/training without a wash and it does exactly as advertised. This stays the freshest, the longest of any shirt I own. It's super soft with no itchiness at all. The fit is a little bit trim, but still relaxed and what I would call slim. I'm sometimes between M and L and glad I stuck with the Large.

At a discount and possibly even full-price, this is definitely a worthwhile buy. Recommended for a base layer, bike commuting, workouts and traveling, but really this thing is great for anything.

Extremely versatile crossover pant

These are one of my favorite pairs of pants and not just to climb in. With a gusset and being made of stretch poly, there is plenty of stretch and no restriction. The material is so light and comfortable that you don't notice these pants even with high activity. The articulated knees help keep these looking fitted and nice and the cinch cords at the ankles are a nice add. One thing that is a huge plus is having a fixed waist AND a zipper fly - the zip fly is super useful and the fixed waist gives you a more consistent fit while wearing these for a long time.

The only two downsides I have experienced: 1. the zip pocket can be awkward holding heavy items like a phone since these are so lightweight, 2. the material "pills" somewhat easily, they still look good. Wish they were slightly more durable, but it's a trade-off I can work with.

Overall, amazing pants for pretty much anything from lounging to warmer weather climbing

Near-perfect pair of technical jogger-style pants

Written on Feb 14, 2020

If you've been contemplating getting a pair of these pants and they are around $80 or under, buy them now. You won't regret it.

These have become my favorite lightweight climbing pants, that I find myself wanting to wear for much more than climbing. They are also awesome for all types of training and are a good casual look too. They are about as perfect as it can get in terms of fit -- slim, but not too slim and the articulation/gusset are done really well. Super lightweight and stretchy for completely unrestricted, distraction-free movement. They are a little on the loud side, so you get some of that 'woosh' 'woosh' but not terrible (their function is well-worth some extra sound). Seriously, this is like the ideal 'tech jogger' I've been looking for that has a clean design, amazing fit and they get that done without looking like soft/sweatpant joggers.

My only wish, is that there was some discreet way to adjust the waist as I would like to keep them a bit higher on the waist at certain times. If you dial in the fit though, they stay put fairly well.

As a taller guy, there aren't tons of jogger style pants out there that are long enough. These fall right around 31 or 32" inseam

Favorite pair of shorts, seriously...

Written on Oct 31, 2018

I walked by these in a gear shop and was struck by the clean, understated look of the Kharani color and linen feel. I had been on the hunt for a do it all pair of shorts that didn't look like swim trunks or cargo shorts for hiking. These hit it right on the money and I swear every detail is near-perfect on these. Coming from a bargain-hunter, I almost never buy things at full-price, but I just went for it with these and can honestly say it is totally worth it. Pay the price for a pair of these instead of owning 2-3 other pairs of shorts.

Details:
The fit feels perfect from the seat to the thighs and leg opening. They are cut trim, but loose enough - they feel just right. The material is lightweight with great stretch, but doesn't feel "techy." The zipper pockets have a high quality mesh bottom (better than any brand I've seen) and the zipper pockets themselves are understated, almost hidden. This is nice because you get that added function, without losing the clean look to the shorts. They've been great under a harness for warmer climbing days, out on hikes, on the bike, literally for anything these are my favorites.

The only two 'cons' I could see for some people:
-only 1 rear pocket
-the length may be a little long for some - tall guys may appreciate the slightly longer inseam than most shorts

I'm telling you, you won't regret these. Every detail is well-thought out, from the material blend, weight, fit and discreet features.

Great value - quality you would expect from Prana

Written on Apr 26, 2018

I bought this as a gift for my sister who has gotten into climbing. It functions as it should, is a great size and has held up well. The outer material has a nice feel to it. I appreciate that the loops for the belt are somewhat big so it is possible to remove the belt if you want to just clip it to a harness.

A good buy especially on say. Only thing that might make it better would be a small zipper pocket and some other fabric designs.

Durable, stylish, comfortable - great color options too

I took a chance on these pants and I'm really glad that I did.

Waist size for me is maybe 1 size too big - I'm usually a 32 waist but 31 is definitely better, MAYBE could go 30

They do fit pretty slim and close to the body, but since there is some spandex blended with the cotton, they feel just awesome... I love wearing these because they are stylish but very functional for a variety of activities. Typically I just wear these casually, but I could definitely climb in them (though if buying specifically for climbing, other Prana models are better in that regard)

The brown leather belt tag on the back started coming off after about the second wear is my only complaint. Otherwise fantastic quality.

My one wish with these pants: add the inseam gusset that's featured on other PrAna models - that would make these nearly perfect in my book.

Love the Henna color!
