I've taken two hikes on rocky steep trails. This light shoe gave me plenty of cushion and support. I have wide feet and the width works for me. The toe box gives me plenty of room to wiggle my toes. The laces are easy and styled tied as long as I use a surgeon knot at the top. The heel is a bit wide for me, but with a thicker sock, it was quite comfortable.
