Flexible, comfortable, and durable!

Written on Feb 12, 2016

I had tried the jacket on before I bought it, so I did know what I was looking for. After wearing through a few rainshowers, I feel I can now give a thorough review.

First thing I noticed was the weight. Very lightweight; perfect for my backpacking excursion to Yosemite in the coming months. At first wear, it's easy to notice that the jacket is more comfortable than any raincoat you've ever tried on before. It fits nicely, with enough space for a layer beneath if needed while still not being baggy. The best part is the stretch; I can swing my arms any way around myself, go running, climbing, or backpacking and not feel container by my jacket. It's more comfortable than most of my sweatshirts.

So, I knew it was comfortable, so rain was the real test. I first checked the coating and had a cup of water thrown at me. Not the smartest idea. The jacket repelled every drop without a bead on the jacket, but my jeans were soaked. I later wore it in 2 winter rainstorms and it kept me perfectly dry, comfortable, and cool. It showed it could really moderate temperature as well.

Overall, this product is a great buy, and I recommend spending the extra penny for this model. You won't regret it.

Better Than I Expected!

Written on Feb 07, 2016

The jacket really is true to its word. It reality, I was hoping for something with a little more down, but I think it is exactly what they advertise to be. A lightweight jacket perfect for layering. I wear it comfortably in 20 degree weather and light wind with just a tee shirt as a base layer. After a week I've seen a few feathers poke through the jacket, which was mildly disappointing, but I just try to pull them back in. I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a solid layering jacket, or just something for warmth in milder climates.
