I bought this at a steep discount off list, but still, at near a hundred bucks, it needs to deliver something special. I'm satisfied because it's my go-to zip for sporty activities that may require looking respectable. Like going for a run and meeting someone for lunch right after.
The best part is that it is soft and warm to the skin inside. In California, our mornings start quite cool (40s or 50s F) but warm up quickly, so runners need short sleeve tops. This jacket (sweater? hoodie?) is perfect for that. I put it on over my bare arms and it feels warm and soft, feels almost like a lightweight cotton sweatshirt would feel. As I warm up, take off and easily ties around the waist. It's fairly lightweight, so stuffable, but surprisingly warm given that. Something about their special weave, almost a thin fleece type feel inside. Not really fleece, just softer inside and solid tough weave on the outside. It holds up well - the type of fabric/weave that doesn't pill or snag.
I have a heavier zip that I use when the temps fall below 45, or if I need thumbholes. Otherwise, this is a good performer. I guess the cost is in the fabric, which still looks new after a year of heavy use and washings.
