I researched and tried many down coats before settling on this one. Rab has designed an incredibly functional jacket suitable for harsh environments.
Unlike the Electron, the Valiane is fully waterproof thanks to use of the Pertex Quantum Shield outer material. The hood has a wire brim (nice touch) and the cinch pulls are very high quality and functional. The coat also comes with its own dry bag stuff sack that stows in the inner pocket.
This tent is not the lightest, but at just over 7 lbs all-in, it is a pretty good deal. Camped 2 nights with it as just over 11,000' and it performed well. The double vestibules (one outside each door) are large enough for a couple bags, shoes and other gear each. The other thing I like about the tent is that setup is super easy and fast. Only two tent poles, it goes up quickly. The rain fly is also nice because it clips in to the corners -- couldn't be easier or faster There are also a couple small mesh gear stows and a gear hammock (clips in up top of the inside of the tent) included.
While I do need to put this tent to the test in rainy weather, so far I am happy with especially in comparison to the price I paid for it.
A sturdy and well constructed backpacking boot with full rubber wrap and Gore-Tex lining. Very firm and supportive in the ankle area, good for packing with larger loads.
Size: Fit a 1/2 size smaller for me (normally i wear 10.5 but this fit as a 10)
