I have used this pack for day hikes, 2-day hikes and 5-day hikes. Conditions on the treks I have used this pack have ranged from a hot desert climate (Havasupai, Grand Canyon) to about 25 degree Fahrenheit with thick frost and a little snow in the mornings (Northern Utah). I am impressed with this pack and I find that as I go more light weight with the rest of my gear, I am not even filling this

Mountain House backpacking food is pretty darn good. When I go out on the trail I am not expecting my meals to taste like I'm eating at some fancy $100 a person restaurant. However, I do expect to to get enough protein and nutrition to keep me going, and a good taste. Mountain House hits a home run here. I do like the Chicken Teriyaki better, but the Beef Teriyaki is good too. A "2 Person" me

Camp Soap gets it done… it works well on just about everything! I have used it to clean everything from my cooking items to my body, it gets everything clean. And I liked the way it made my hair feel… which is way better than the usual backpacking mated down hair! It is light and it goes a long way, I got the small bottle and we really used this soap, 4 of us on a 5 day trip (2 women!)… An

I bought this for my wife a couple of weeks before we went on a 5 day backpacking trip in the desert. She practiced in the shower a few times before we went on the trip and figured it out. Now, she pees like me, standing up, and she thinks it is pretty cool that she can do that while out on the trail. We just brought along a little TP and a sealable sandwich baggy and everything worked out perf

The Backpacker's "Hawaiian Chicken" is a VERY tasty dinner. I didn't think a dehydrated backpacking meal could possibly taste this good… but wow, this meal was amazing. The pineapple tasted great and the chucks of chicken were tender and moist. The mix of spices and sauce was perfect, I LOVED THIS MEAL… no complaints.
NOTE: You might want to get a long handled spoon for these type of meals

The Backpacker's Pantry Jamaican BBQ Chicken is pretty good dinner. I had honestly hoped for more out of this one. I am a fan of Jamaican Jerk Chicken and I would not say this is Jerk style chicken. It is still good, just not Jerk Chicken. Which I guess is good, because when backpacking you typically don't want anything really spicy for, how can I put this delicately, digestive reasons.

The Mexican Rice & Beef is pretty good. But my only advice is this: Eat it as one of your last meals while backpacking, you know, those meals when you have been out for a few days and anything tastes good. Oh, and give it enough time to "cook" as hard-ish rice really sucks. Not that this Mountain House meal is bad, it is really good, I have just noticed that it sure tastes better, the longer I

Para cord has a thousand uses, but if you get the cheap stuff and then find yourself in a bad situation when your life depends on a length of para cord, you need to have cordage you can trust. While I haven't put 350 pounds on this cord like it claims it can handle, I have used this cord for several different applications and it performs like a champ.

This stuff sack is perfect for my NeoAir (size Large) sleeping pad. It is made with solid construction and has worked well for me. I bought it simply because it was less expensive than the stuff sack specifically made for the NeoAir pads... and I found this one on clearance. I have seen both (my buddy has the green NeoAir sack) and there is basically no difference. So, I say, save the money, g

The Big Agnes Deluxe Pillow is an awesome addition to my pack. I love backpacking and I get out on the trail a lot, and I have found that this pillow seriously performs for me. I am a chest sleeper, and I know that is a terrible position to sleep in when inside a sleeping bag (specifically in colder weather). This pillow has plenty of thickness to it for chest sleeping, I actually only fill it
