Nice and light. Fit great. I really like the height, just barely visible out of my shoes but enough to keep the shoe from riding on my heels. Wick sweat and keep my feet protected and as dry as can be expected. 3rd pair I've purchased - 2 men's and one women's pair for my daughter. Great way to get a small order over $50. Basically I traded them for the cost of shipping.
I ordered these knowing they were much lighter than their big brother the Skecher Gorun Ultra (that I love for training but are a touch heavy to race in). I expected the Gorun Ride 3 to be similarly cushioned, but fall way short. Don't get me wrong, they do give a reasonably cushioned ride, just not enough for a everyday training shoe. They are nice fitting, comfortable, and roomy in the toe box but are just in between being too heavy to race in but not enough cushion for everyday.
I like them well enough to wear through their life but probably won't buy again.
I bought a pair of Gorun Ultra's earlier this fall from Camp Saver and think they might be the best shoes I've ever had, and I've have a lot over the 40 years of running I've accumulated. I used the Ultra's to run a marathon and regularly training with them on rocky trails in near my home in Colorado. They work great. They are just a little heavier than other racing shoes I've used so I have been looking for a super light weight, well cushioned shoe to race in.
The weight of the Gorun 3's caught my eye when surveying the various shoes made by Skecher on the Camp Saver web site. They are definitely light, feel like my legs are 10 years younger using them. They fit like a glove like the Ultra's do and I really appreciate the raised arch which soothes my old fallen arches and reminds me to be a little more aggressive about mid to forefoot striking.
I think Skecher could improve the shoe by transferring some of the cushy material from the heel into the forefoot and maybe back off the arch support a tiny bit as well. I am a little disappointed in the forefoot cushioning as built. Might only be good up to a 1/2 marathon distance for that reason. Good shoe, can't wait to do a 5k in them!
