My foot size is 9 medium according to foot sizing gauge. I bought a 9M.
Despite using heel lock lacing and wearing a under sock I got blisters and black toenails on right foot due to the toe of the boot narrowing too quickly and not leaving a wide enough toe box. It seems like a great boot but be aware of the narrowness factor.

Smartwool PhD Outdoor Mid Crew - Men's
Very well made socks. They fit me well with no seams in the wrong places to irritate the foot. Extra padding/material at the wear points (heels and toes) for increased longevity. They absorb sweat well on hot summer hikes, keeping the skin dry. I would buy these again.
