I have two lightweight camp chairs already, but one of them is a rocker style, and I wanted something more conventional for general usage (at games, BBQs, etc) and this fit what I needed perfectly. If you're not looking for ultralight, but rather something to carry around in your car that doesn't take up much room, this is perfect. I was able to get it on sale, and for the price it's a huge value. So far in my use it has proved to be sturdy and well built, so no complaints about build quality.
if there is anything that sets gear aside in my world it's gear that is built both rugged and simple, with little to break and few weak points. These straps fall into that category. Much more trustworthy than looped rope, and less harmful to trees. Quick and simple adjustment with a D-ring or other connector device, and very little stretch. These will probably outlast my hammock.
the first thing I noticed about this lantern is how incredibly light it is. I have quite a few but this candle model takes it. I got this for use in a tent, and now that I have seen how lightweight it is as well as somewhat compact, I'm adding it to the backpacking gear. Due to its ingeniously simple design it's also very sturdy with little to be broken or malfunction - though I could see it being possible to lose one of the springs or them eventually wearing out. Still, that would be an easy fix, and I already love this lantern.
be aware that these are very small carabiners. However, they are very sturdy for their size and sufficient for attaching gear to a pack, though not too heavy.
The compact size truly caught me off guard in the best way. For the size and strength, I expected bulk. Instead it is smaller, lighter, and more durable than most tents. I'm truly impressed.
