I got this for my son who's 6' 5" and needs a 14 wide shoe which is hard to come by. His last pair of Lowa lasted nearly 5 years and are still in reasonable shape. Lowa's are well suited for his foot and of good quality just as the AKU's are for my feet, which I've also purchased here at Campsaver.
With some brands of packs I wonder if the people who design them have ever even used a backpack, but Deuter is the best designed pack I've owned. It is also the most durable I've owned. That said, the one concern I have with this pack is the size of the side pockets. I prefer using water bottles to hydration bladders and these pockets are a bit shalllow. The 1 quart Nalgene bottle actually seems to be well secured, but only about the bottom half of the bottle. The bottle lid strap can be secured with the pack strap. Maybe with this size of pack one doesn't need to carry than much water. I would recommend this pack for day hikes and travel.
I bought these for my son who's 6' 5" and weighs 250 pounds. I was concerned that they wouldn't be substantial enough to support his weight, but it appears this shoe will be fine. It's difficult to find size 14 hiking shoes of this quality and construction. I usually end up buying size 13s that run large.
I own several pairs of AKU boots, from approach shoes to mountaineering boots and can't think of anything bad to say about them. This boot is as close as you can get to a mountaineering boot while still working well at lower elevations on well worn trails. Fits like an approach shoe, but with toe room and lightweight enough that you won't get tired getting to the rocky off trail stuff. It has a fi
