Mertz from United States, CA Public Profile
In My Own Words:
Been climbing and ski mountaineering for 35 yrs. Resort skiing for 50 years. I live at 7000' in the mountains of southern Calif. I climb once or twice a week and I ski 50-60 days/season
I had already purchased the Deuter rope tarps and liked it so much that I decided to buy 2 of the rope bags which each have a rope tarps included. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. I like the way the bag separates from the tarp. I can fit a single rack and a pair of shoes inside the bag with a 10.2x70m rope. The other bag holds 16 draws, shoes, rope, and the rest of my sport gear. I did take some 12" lengths of pipe insulation and ran the shoulder straps through it for padding.
Made in the USA says it all! Attention to details and workmanship are impeccable. I have narrow hips and when I load a harness up with my trad gear it tends to want to head south on me. Not so with the Cadillac! It stays put even loaded up with double set of cams, nuts, cowbells, tricams, alpine draws, etc. 6 gear loops make racking easy and uncrowded. Dual buckles let me perfectly center the harness and the load. I used it sport climbing and was surprised that it's less than 5oz heavier than my BD Momentum. Very comfortable when working overhanging routes. I've climbed 35 yrs and used Petzl, Black Diamond, and Arc'teryx harnesses. The Cadillac is the best one so far!
Great fit! Extremely lightweight and comfortable. My last helmet was heavy and bulky with poor ventilation. I only wore it when I truly felt the need. The best helmet is the one you choose to wear all the time!
