At first I was rather skeptical about spending upwards of 800 big ones on a tent due to the fact that I am just getting back into hiking for the first time in years. A friend of mine actually recommended I check out outdoorgearlab.com to help me decide what to buy. I read the reviews on all of their tents and narrowed my choices down to 3 tents. The Jannu, the Nammatj 2, and the third I can't remember. The only reason I went with the Nammatj 2 instead of the Jannu is because most of my backpacking will take place in NH. The White Mountains as many of you may know are notorious for drastic weather changes and very unforgiving terrain so I wanted a very durable, light weight, tent. Both the Jannu and the Nammatj (if I remember correctly) have the removable inner tent. Which as Hilleberg advertises is wicked easy to remove. Set up is also easy. The first time I used this tent was in VA. I hiked the Andy Lane access trail to the AT then camped over night. By the time I go to my campsite it was dark. Set up took me 5 minutes in the dark with little to no issues. The two poles slide right into place, the guys are very easy to tie off and operate. The stakes are durable and pretty sturdy once set into place. The vestibule provides a nice barrier between you and the bugs. I found it quite convenient, yeah I had to kneel/crouch inside of it but closing it behind me left the bugs out.
