Awesome leggings for climbing

Review for
Arc'teryx Oriel Legging - Women's
I've worn these leggings climbing, hiking, and practicing yoga. The fit is impeccable and I am really happy with the rise of the waistband and also the length of the pants. At 5'4" and 135lbs, I went for a size Medium. The length hits just above my ankles and the rise isn't quite high-rise but isn't low either. The fit through the legs is really comfortable while also being compressive and flattering.
The material is a unique blend that feels really different than most other yoga tights or leggings. It is thin, compressive, and durable. I scuffed my knees and ankles against the rock while climbing and haven't seen any noticeable wear. I'm interested to see how these perform on longer hikes and even trail runs. So far I'm really pleased.

Rugged, breathable, durable piece for climbing

Arc'teryx Sigma SL Anorak Pullover - Women's
As a sport climber, I'm really happy with the Sigma SL Anorak. I've been wearing it climbing in Northern Utah as the season has started shifting from Summer to Fall. This piece is awesome for transitional weather as it packs down small, is incredibly breathable, super stretchy, and doesn't impede on climbing motions. The material is similar to their Gamma softshell but a little thinner which is ideal when you warm up during a route. I expect this pullover to hold up well to abrasion as well.
The hem of this pullover has a cool feature, especially for climbers. Sewn into the hem are small foam tubes that prevent the jacket from pulling through your harness. Visually, they're barely noticeable, but they make it so you don't have to continually tuck your jacket back into your harness. I definitely recommend this piece for anyone doing sport, trad, multi-pitch, or even bouldering. The styling is so good and it performs really well on the rock.

prAna Transform 7/8 Legging - Women's
These leggings are super flattering and great for working out, hiking, or everyday wear. They have minimal stitching making them a good piece for wearing with a tunic, but they also work great for climbing or yoga. I'm 5'4" and these hit just above my ankle.

prAna Becksa 7/8 Legging - Women's
These are the most comfortable and flattering leggings I've purchased from Prana. They're highly breathable and are tight but not uncomfortable. I use these primarily for yoga, rock climbing, and day-to-day stuff. I definitely recommend and will be getting another pair.

Go-to Camping Duffle

Review for
Matador Transit 30 Duffle
This is my go-to duffle for any car camping. It's surprisingly spacious and can hold several pairs of pants, shorts, tops, puffy coat, shoes, socks, toiletries. Packs down super small BUT doesn't sacrifice durability.

Easiest water filter for trail running or backpacking

Review for
Katadyn BeFree Water Filtration Bottle
I take this with me on every trail run. Fresh spring water whenever I feel like it is an awesome luxury on a trail run. I've also used this as my primary filter on backpacking trips through high alpine regions with tons of springs and lakes. So easy to use and I like the soft flask style.

Yeti Rambler 14 oz Mug 2.0 w/MagSlider Lid
This is my go-to mug for coffee at camp and at work. I use this daily and have to add ice to cool the coffee down to the desired temperature because otherwise, I have to wait hours for it to cool off. I upgraded to the mag slider lid so that it doesn't slosh when I'm driving.

Great crag bag!

Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 21 Daypack
I'm primarily using this bag as my rock climbing bag for when I don't need to haul around a rope and draws. This fits 3+ pairs of shoes, harness, lockers and belay device plus room for snacks, sunglasses, etc. What I like about this bag versus some others I use is the tri-zip. I can open all three zips to see everything in my pack without having to pull ALL of it out. I also love the look of it and that I don't worry about it getting scuffed up on climbing approaches or being thrown on the ground regularly.

Le Bent Le Sock Outdoor Light Mini - Unisex
These socks are unbelievably soft! They feel cool to the touch and are excellent at wicking moisture. I love the taller version for Ski Touring and use these for hiking/trail running. SO happy with how comfortable these are.

Quickest way to filter water on the go
Written on Apr 02, 2019
By far the easiest way to filter water when backpacking or trail running through terrain with lots of natural water sources. I prefer this to all other methods I've tried (pumps, squeeze, gravity, tablets, etc.) Very quick and fits in my trail running packs really well.
