I think the mitts would be very warm but the fit didn't work for me. I consistently wear a size large glove, and size large in these were ok, in the fingers, but too short in the thumb. I suspect size XL would have been fine, but they were out of stock. The surface of the glove is extremely grippy. I thought they would be great for skiing, and maybe they would, but with too short of a thumb, it was a non starter. I recommend, size up.

Very happy with the XA Pro 3D. Comfort, support and style are all excellent. I wanted to like the Speedcross series but after trying them, not a good fit for me, these were MUCH better. Not sure about durability as they're new, but they seem very well constructed. I opted for non waterproof as i wanted to minimize heat, maximize airflow. These seem to breathe exceptionally well. Good sole, not overly aggressive, but very sticky rubber. Highly recommended. (and best price was from a Campsaver sale)
