These are a smart, stylish all-round shoe. Pretty comfortable too, though a bit narrow. However, they have stretched so are now reasonably comfortable but something to keep in mind if you have wide feet. Soles are nice and grippy. Yet to test these out on a hike/climbing approach but they're great as an all-purpose casual shoe in town. They are not gussetted and are suede so I wouldn't take these
