To follow up on my previous review - I received the size S and it fits perfectly, and doesn't look like a shapeless sack. I ended up getting the purple color, and it is really nice. I liked the pewter, but it is a light color, and thought that if I was trying another size, may as well try the other color. The M is on its way back. Campsaver has prompt shipping and good sales on really nice stuff. I am very happy with the way this turned out. This is the perfect coat for long walks on frigid days, in the city or in suburbia.

I call this a suit of armor, as it blocks wind and is also the color of armor (I got the pewter color). It is so warm! I wish it had more shape, but it's not about fashion when the wind is blowing and it is 7 degrees F outside. I ordered and received a Medium, and subsequently ordered a Small, which is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. The Medium fits okay, but is a little big, and I feel like I am "all coat" when I wear it. I love that it is long, (I am 5 feet tall), but it doesn't really suit my petite / curvy stature in a flattering way. I find that many upscale/ outdoorsy brands are designed for the gamine body type, and I have to size up to a Medium, which ultimately looks somewhat oversized. I may be returning the Small, as I may not be able to zip it around my middle or chest, but won't know until it arrives. I have worn the Medium once on a walk, and am trying not wear it in case I return it, in favor of the Small. If the Small is too small, I will most definitely keep the Medium, as it is amazingly warm, but not particularly flattering on a small person. This is a high-quality, very warm coat that blocks the wind. It's too soon to tell, but I don't think it will have problems with shedding feathers.
