Best light on the market until it gets wet!!

Written on Jul 06, 2015

This is the best illumination you can get. But it is not waterproof period. I have 4 of them none waterproof. Then I started using them for dry cave but after 3 month it ate the batteries in less than 15 min. Gets hot fast and trust me when i said do not get them wet do not get them wet because they will start turning of on the middle of your trip. Not a good experience especially is you are 400 ft HIGH rappel in a cave rappelling and the light goes off in the middle of it. Warranty is good but still you have to pay shipping to get them fix for something they advertise wrong this shouldn't be a IPX7. Is not even water resistant. If you visit dry places this is the best and most powerful lamp. But if you like to get wet do not buy this lamp. First one was damage from rain water second one from a 2 feet submersion and the others ones just got damage from waterfalls inside caves. My recommendation; Dry Caving this headlamps is the most powerfull but for water this is you worst selection!! Buy the black diamond icon. Im a professional caver/rescuer/tour guide with over 15 years of experience in caving and rescuing people in the most extreme environments you can imagine.

Best Waterproof Head Lamp Ever

Written on Jul 06, 2015

I have purchased Princeton tech all my life until i found this. This is the best waterproof headlamp i ever own. Actually the only real waterproof headlamp. With Princeton tech i get a good warranty but still they are never waterproof. With this one i jump from a 4o ft drop inside a cave over 10 times no harm done to it. I have dive into caves not removing batteries at night after exploration and sitill working as new. Great illumination. Im a caver with over 15 years of experience and this is the best lamp i have found on the marked that is less than $100.00 . I stopped using Princeton tech when my light just stop functioning at half of a 400 ft rappel inside of a wet cave. Not a good experience at all. Im a tour guide and I use my head lamp every day on wet caves and never had any problems. Thank you black diamond for actually having a real ipx7. Do not buy the apex pro buy this instead it is a real waterproof headlamp!! Apex pro have better light but the quality is not good. I have 4 apex and 1 fenix at this moment and none of them waterproof but advertise as ipx7. This black diamond is the only real waterproof.
