The right size for me

Kelty Yukon 48 Backpack
I started out with an LK 35 backpack which is only 35 L. The size was great. The only reason why I switched it out for a Kelty was because of the waist belt. The Kelty has padding which makes it more comfortable when the belt is tight against my hip bones. I also have the larger 65 external frame kelty and I found that the waist belt is about an inch longer on both sides. This is helpful for someone with broader hips like my female hiking partner although she could get by with this pack. All in all, I love it. It’s adjustable and very comfortable Especially when you have to carry heavy loads of 40 pounds. And I love being able to strap things to the frame of my pack.
