Protect your gear, from your gear!

Written on Aug 05, 2014

Are the spikes sharp? Not really, but if you have any gear that you don't want to snag or maybe puncture, this back will do the trick. It's a one-size-fits-all bag so an XL set is a tight squeeze. The upside is it keeps the mud & water in the bag and not on your equipment. For ten bucks it's a luxury, but a few extra ounces in the pack It's not a bother.
If you want, clip it to the outside of your

Must have storage bag for your snowshoes

A must have accessory for you MSR snowshoes. Not only to protect your snowshoes during storage, but during transport to and from your winter wonderland destination.
Constructed out of 500D coated Ripstop polyester fabric, this bag will stand up to years of abuse! The shoulder strap and handle make transportation a breeze. And you can store your trekking poles right onto the bag via two large Velc

Light & Nice!

MSR Pot handle
A simple design that will handle just about any pot out there. And a great "hook" feature to lift off pot lids (that have a hook).
Lightweight enough to forget you packed it, but if you are true minimalist, you'll leave it at home. I'm a minimalist that will forego a few grams not to burn my hands on a hot handle or lid.
Though I like the value-added storage bag, the one I received

This should be in your ditty bag!

The reflective feature is what makes this a must have. Great for extra guy-lines for your tent, setting a bear bag or setting a clothes line.
The adjusters are a bonus and come in handy. But still expensive for cord.
Overall the best reflective packaged cord out there.
You won't be disappointed.

Be sure to choose the right bag.

There are two bags offered from Kahtoola, so be sure you get the right one for the Microspikes (size is smaller but just right - no extra weight!). If you need to store the spikes in your backpack, this bag will protect your (valuable) items.

Best value for a seat cushion, period!

Amazingly comfortable, not what I expected! Took it with us on a hike in the Cascade's. Surprised how well it insulated on snow, wet logs, the ground; anything we could put it on. Dirty, run some water over it or bang it on your leg. Set up is 2 seconds, really! Just unfold and sit. And you'll never need to inflate, so it won't go flat.
Best value for a seat cushion on the market, period!

Light weight, stores well.

Moving to save some weight and time gathering water, this is a great balance. I can fill up once to get me through dinner & breakfast, and then fill my bottle before I hit the trail. Great for group camping (one container for all). Since I keep mine flat and store it in my pack in the slot used for the hydration bag, I have had no issues of failing seams or fear of leaks from folding. Hint - keep
