I purchased these for golfing in the winter months when it's wet & muddy. They work well & I can wear thicker socks for warmth.

Read instructions carefully& test it before going on trail. The battery placement can be confusing because of the +,-, symbols. Unfortunately, there is no sure way to know whether your water is safe or not until too late. Worth the try though. Will be good for travel to questionable areas.
