Super value

Written on Jun 04, 2019

Needed a replacement for my 35L pack, which gets used for short weekend hotel trips, day hikes, downhill skiing, urban outings, and summer festivals. I haul extra layers, water, snacks, and other "essentials" for my 2 kids. This pack nails it. Lots of pockets, and the material seems to be very water resistant. Side pockets fit a 1L Nalgene bottle (a basic requirement for me). Seems like it will be much more sturdy than my previous 35L pack.

Medium-weight fleece

Written on Apr 04, 2019

The fleece is a little thicker than I expected. That will help keep faces warmer, but it may mean that a ski helmet doesn't quite fit over it if your child's head is near the max of the size range for his/her helmet. But it's a fantastic product - can't beat Turtle Fur for comfort and quality head / neck wear.

Super soft

I purchased two of these - one for me and one for my wife. Both patterns are nice, and they are super soft. You can't beat Turtle Fur for comfort and quality fleece head / neck wear! Fit is fairly standard - works for most adults.

Perfect for under ski helmet

Very thin, so it fits easily under a ski helmet. Nice and long in the neck, so coverage is excellent. The pattern is beautiful (I ordered the butterflies), and you can't beat Turtle Fur for quality.

Excellent light rain shell

Written on Sep 11, 2018

My 15-year-old Columbia rain shell leaked at the seams quite a bit. If I was in a steady rain for a couple hours, I'd be soaked. Haven't had a chance to really test this one out, but I think it will provide much better protection. The seams are obviously sealed on the inside, and it's done fine on the short outings I've used it so far. I'm 6'2" with long arms and thin build, and the large fits just fine; would fit a normal frame at that height no problem.

Nice shoes, but Toe Box too narrow

Written on Feb 15, 2018

I wear a size 11 or 12 in boots, 13 in athletic shoes. Tried a 12 since these seemed to be in-between. The length was fine, but the to box was way too narrow for me. Trying a 13 in a different Salomon shoe. All that said, I really with they had fit. The quality seemed great, they looked sharp, and the studded treads seemed very aggressive, perfect for lots of different outdoor activities.
