Good Alternative to Overcoat

Arc'teryx Therme Parka - Men's
I purchased this parka to wear to office as an alternative to overcoat during rainy or snowy days. The jacket looks nice and sleek except for the hood. I wore the jacket a couple of times while raining. The goretex did a good job of keeping me dry. I felt comfortable at 40 degrees without other layer over my shirt. The jacket shell feels crunchy compared to wool or polyester. The hood is quite large, and no matter how I tried to fix it, it looked awkward sticking at my back. Wearing the hood, the rain gets through the collar hood to my chest. The jacket seems to be very durable and I hope I could use it for many years.
