Carhartt has good items! This vest feels super thick. Inside material is soft and warm. Has two pockets on the inside, one has a zipper and the other is a basic with velcro for security. The hood has a pull string to tighten which is separated, so if one side of the strings gets lost you only have to go half way through the hood to pull it out (hopefully that makes sense) it’s not one complete string but two. No complaints about the jacket. Will edit after first wash.

Great work jacket! It's definitely not a jacket for sitting around in freezing temps, but if you're up and moving around it's great! I love the "stretch" it gives you in the shoulders too whenever I'm chopping wood or running a chainsaw.

I have bought this jacket for years. This jacket is, apparently, slightly different than previous ones. This jacket is somehow water-resistant. I don't like changes. The fact of the matter is that my old jacket which has been laundered many times would be saturated after a two-minute downpour. I took this new jacket outside which has not been laundered and stood in a semi-torrential rain for several minutes and, after reentering the house, and shaking the rain off of the jacket, noted that the jacket was not even damp inside. Impressive. How this jacket will fare following years of use and laundering remains to be seen. The other comment I would make is that beside the normal Carhartt label on the jacket pocket, Carhartt has attached dark ink transfer-type logo indicating that the jacket is water repellent on the lower sleeve. While nearly invisible, I don't like to be an advertiser unless I want to wear advertising clothing.

The quality now. Outstanding! I'm in the Carson City Reno area. So it gets into the teens and single digits for sure. Incredibly comfortable with roomy pockets. Zipper and Velcro. Rugged and good looking coat. Great for going out or toughing it in the forest, mountains, camping, hiking etc...

Apparently a lot of reviewers were upset to discover that this isn't a cold weather, winter coat. I had a pretty good idea what I was getting into and I'm very happy. It's a heavy cotton duck shell with a minimal thermal lining. It layers very nicely with a hoodie. It's generously cut. I'm a full figured guy, generously configured if you will, so I appreciate that. If you're slim you might want to order a size down. With layers I expect it to get me very comfortably through the end of winter, through the spring and into windy, foggy summer days at the coast. All that would have gotten it four stars. The fifth star is because it was made in the USA by union, United Food and Commercial Workers members

Let me start off with some information that may help folks with sizing. When reading all the reviews here and on other sites, there was no doubt this would be an excellent and durable jacket; however, the data points regarding size by height and weight were all over the place. Granted, there isn't a right answer for everyone regarding the appropriate fit of the jacket so I'll let you know what worked for me.

Whenever I read reviews for Carhartt clothing, there's sure to be quite a few discussing how they don't fit right. Many complain that the clothing is at least a size or two too big. I won't argue that the clothes may not have fit people the way they like, but the problem isn't that Carhartt has their measurements off-- it's just they don't exactly cater to slender men, and their clothes isn't fitted. Naturally, if you are slender and/or tend to purchase/prefer fitted clothing, this clothing isn't going to fit the way you want. If you fall into this category, you may want to go down a size or look somewhere else.

This is my second pair of this style of Carhartt shorts. The fit on these is very good and fits as expected. The best feature of these shorts is all the pockets. The best pocket is on the left left front leg where there is a pocket that fits my iPhone 6 perfectly. I don't know for sure if it's large enough for the iPhone 6 plus. There are two large cargo pockets one on each leg that carry a ton of things. Lots of other pockets of different sizes that a great assortment of items. The fabric is extremely tough and comfortable. After going through the wash & dry cycle I found that they don't shrink and don't need ironing. Great Shorts!!

I buy a lot of items on Amazon and rarely write reviews. I'm writing this one because after reading other reviews, it was sort of a gamble. Most people love this sweatshirt, but some had issues. I was looking for a heavy duty sweatshirt that fit. I've purchased tons of cheap, lightweight sweatshirts that didn't last as long as an average pair of socks. This time I wanted a durable sweatshirt which will last a few years or more. Believe me, I'll stain it to the point of not being able to wear it in public in far less time. However, I wanted a quality sweatshirt for a change.
