Keeps me warm at 30 below

Written on Jan 28, 2020

I was looking for an affordable, heavy-weight down coat for my first winter in Fairbanks. We frequently have temperatures around -30F in December and January, and find myself reaching for this more than my other coats. I love that the hood is insulated, negating my need for a hat most days. The pockets are very warm, and I really appreciate that the inner top of the zipper (where it rests against your mouth) is a soft cottony material instead of the slick outer fabric. The moisture from your breath will often freeze to slicker materials and feel awful against your face. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the sleeves also have a neoprene-ish cuff that cinches around your wrist. Very warm! I get compliments on it often.
