Decent compact first aid kit
Written on May 27, 2018
This kit squeezes a good selection of first aid items into a compact package. Unlike other brands, it actually includes a usable set of tweezers (it's tiny, but it works) and a roll bandage.
It uses a fairly durable, resealable plastic bag to protect the contents. There's enough room in the bag for some minor customization of the contents.
Bottom line - I like it. It's useful for a single hiker / daytrips.

Speedcross 4 CS Trail Running Shoes - Mens - I like them
Written on Jan 26, 2017
So far, I've used the Speedcross 4 CS trail running shoes 3 times in cold, rainy weather, covering 30+ miles. The shoes were comfortable, they kept my feet dry, and I liked the "grippiness" of heir tread pattern. For a very lightweight shoe, their soles have adequate stiffness to protect my feet, yet there's just a bit of flex, which makes them more comfortable on medium distance dayhikes.

just purchased my second pair of Salmon Speedcross trail running shoes. They are lightweight, and their comfort approaches high end road running shoes. Their soles have just enough flex to remain comfortable over long distances, but they are still solid enough to provide decent foot protection on trails.
CampSaver has so far proved to be a good source - good selection and prices combined with prompt shipments.

Wanderfreund Antishock Trekking Pole Review
Written on Nov 23, 2016
Review for
Leki Wanderfreund Antishock Trekking Pole
My one concern is with the instructions for extending / collapsing the pole; they are virtually non-existent.
- You collapse or extend the pole sections by first twisting the pole to loosen or tighten. Either take a lot of twisting.
- Do not extend the pole sections beyond the hard-to-see "STOP" line (the pole will come apart and is somewhat difficult to put together again.)
Otherwise, it's a good, useful pole at a good price.
