I bought these pants on a whim, as I was looking for a pair of slim fitting, comfortable three season pants that come in a 30' inseam. I've been blown away by how versatile and comfortable these are. I live in the PNW and have worn these year round. From snowshoeing in 25 degrees (with Patagonia cap 4/expedition thermals underneath) to backpacking a 40 mile section of the Rogue River Trail in 80 degree heat. They are breathable, and never felt too hot or sticky, with just the right amount of breath ability. Being fairly breathable, I was surprised they offered a fair amount of wind protection. They don't seem to hold onto any smells like a lot of synthetic fibers do, but dirt does tend to stick and requires a scrubbing prior to washing. I've only washed them perhaps half a dozen times, but they've held up quite well to a fair amount of abuse. I've owned these for almost a year and they are hands down my favorite pants.
