OK, I am still wearing them around town and small hikes to break me in.. oops; I mean the boots! Yes, stiff as a board foundation: perfect for mountaineering! Yet so flexible in the ankle, and soft grippy sole are inspiring me to get them broke in quickly, we have snowy peaks and rocks to conquer!
This is my third pair in a row of this brands mountaineering boots: they always fit me like a glove, and last a long time, while being totally comfortable while doing so... I am seriously considering another pair as back up...!
Great, subtle improvements: the toe box lacing lockdown is better than the last pair, and the extra tongues shipped with them were crucial to making them fit like a glove. The ankle lower cut in the back allows great downhill/rock flex, better than the last pair.
If your feet fit these boots like mine do (45): buy them: worth every cent paid! And, CampSaver service is icing on that cake!
My first new bag in... thirty years (I still have a down bag from 1975!).
This bag is great; it was recommended by a Back Country Instructor as the one he owns; just used it in the Cascades in Washington at 9,850 ft!
CampSaver Rocks!
I know, I know, if I was truly a "minimalist", I would not use a pad this size... comfort drove this decision, and it was a good choice!
OK, yes, do not use the matching bag, it is a pain: wrap the pad around the interior of your pack, it works fine!
Bought this for that "option" ability and storage; but it is a pain to get the pad to fit, especially after a week of camping and changing campsites daily: better to line the backpack with the pad on a trek!
