Better stove with a caveat on the plastic closures

Written on Sep 17, 2018

This is my second Everest stove. I bought the first one in 2011 and it endured numerous multi-week river and car expeditions. The first one had two issues: (1) it was almost impossible to simmer and (2) in the middle of nowhere Utah the regulator attachment to the stove broke leaving the unit inoperable. Camp Chef made good on a replacement regulator and fixed that design flaw. I retired the first model when the burner rings rusted out. The new stove is a definite improvement in that it can now simmer almost as well as a Coleman! Whether the plastic lid clasps are beefy enough only time will tell. My previous model used metal lid closures that were bombproof.
