Great feeling pants... light with nonrestrictive undies for a run or workout. The side pocket fits my HTC One perfectly. I got the mud colored shorts the dark strip of mesh in the crotch gets a few sideways looks... my friend said at first she thought it looked like I'd wet myself... so maybe choose the all black version ;-)

As usual with Arcteryx you get the best made gear. I see this lasting a long time.
The negative is something that is a tad frustrating given that I can't get to try on any Arcteryx gear locally so most of my gear purchases are online... I own around 15 Arcteryx items and after my initial sizing success I've realized that the sizing isn't consistent across the brand... Even my new Motus T fits very different to my Motus Long Sleeve T from a few years ago (massive fail!!)
I'm a solid upper build 5'8 180pounds with a 41 inch chest / 32 inch waist... and the Alpha AR is so roomy I can comfortably wear thermals, tech T, light fleece and puffy under this and still move without restriction. This may suit some of you out there but practically speaking I'll rarely wear all that so I'm left with a shell that is too baggy and prone to getting snagged.
