Practical item for summer; order up a size.

Written on May 23, 2020

This tunic has “it all”—it repels pest insects, and UV rays, has great coverage for a single garment between the hood, long sleeves and legnth. It says the fabric is made especially to not cling to wet bathing suits when worn as a coverup. I am enthusiastic about wearing it. The reason I write the review is to note that if I hadn’t sized up, it never would have fit. I put it on and said to myself “I thought I ordered a large instead of the medium”. It was the large. So: if you are going for what I’d imagined—something very oversize...size up x2. As it is, I think I won’t bother with exchanging it for one size up (if they even have it) because it works as it is. If I thought (for a second) that this would shrink in the wash, though...I would have to return or exchange for xl.

I love this thing

The color, cut and especially the fabric is perfect for spring gardening. Very impressed with the material’s ability to warm me up when I am cold yet wick sweat away when I am too warm. It dries fast and is lightweight considering the warmth factor. Very snuggly feel. I ordered up to wear whatever underneath and it was the right choice for me. Dimma color is amaze.

Not for crouching in

The good thing about the fabric is that it is legitimately light and cool. For me, though, this garment did not “move with” so much. If it weren’t for the high waist band, I would have a major issue with plumbers’ butt in these because they don’t stretch so much as stay static as my body moves inside them? I have a long torso and I thought these would help that, but no. I crouch all the time as a gardener, so these can’t work for that activity—what I wanted them for. Will have to return.

Ink color not navy as shown

Written on Mar 18, 2019

It is like a graphite grey or dark slate. Because it has no ‘blue’, and they don’t offer a ‘dark slate’ (for example), it took me a long time to determine it wasn’t the black instead of navy, as the label on the bag doesn’t indicate colour. I decided it must be the inkwell, because there just isn’t quite enough pigment to be called ‘black’ and also, I think the black is made of solid striped while this one has a solid stripe with a gradient variety of the same on either side, between the white stripes. It could be called a green grey, but it could never be called teal. Just a heads’ up if your trying to match this to gear you have.

Don’t let the size fool you

I tried these on and thought they fit. I took the tags off and walked around a bit. While they stayed up for a couple minutes, they soon began slipping down lower and lower until I looked like the Droopy Drawers cartoon. Thankfully, this happened before I left the house. So: yeah. Size down. I am exchanging the med for the sm because I really need a high waisted mid layer for my shell to grip over so there won’t be shifting or rubbing once I’m fully dressed, out and about.
