I absolutely loved these when they arrived as they fit well and they match my favorite hard shell. Sadness came when I checked to make sure they would work well with my boots and found that the hook on the front that connects the gaiter to your boot-either boot strings or the gaiter hook ring on your boot-was not wide enough. Very disappointed as I have to send them back. My boot strings are normal size and so is my gaiter hook ring on my boots. I have never had this issue before with my Outdoor Research gaiters or my older Lowe Pro ones. The gaiter hook is hard plastic vs the metal ones that are normally used so it has no give and is poorly designed. I am very sad to return them as I could not find a way to make the gaiter hook functional.
I love Burton products so I might be a little biased. Keep in mind that the length of their jackets etc are longer than normal. The sleeves on this jacket are very fitted so if you have a bigger arm it might not work for you. I am 5'0 and 100# so I have no issues. Beautiful color and well made. I wear it for hiking and snowshoeing as well as casually. It is more of a fitted jacket.
This is not only windproof but it is light weight and most importantly, stays put on your head. I have trouble with the thicker ones sliding up when I am hiking or snowshoeing. This one stays put and keeps the wind out.
This is my 6th pair of Speedcross shoes. I love them! The fit...I have a small(sze 5) high volume/high arch foot... Salmon is the shoe and hiking boot for me. If you have a narrow foot you might want to consider another brand. I have been wearing Salomon shoes and boots for years. They are comfortable right out of the box. Please keep in mind that the Speedcross(this model) is for training running and not road work. The tread will wear down quickly if you run on the road with this shoe. Salomon has come out with a different tread for the road. I find them to run pretty close to true size. If you wear a 5.5 shoe then you will wear a 5.5 in this shoe. Boots I find I wear a half size down for all brands.
