My 2nd Pair-BEST Hiking/Trail Running Shoes - Especially for Wide Feet

Written on Feb 17, 2022

I have gone through countless number of hiking and running shoes over the years. I have just accepted that my feet will never be happy...until I found these!

My wide, high-arched feet LOVE these shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes ever. I bought them for walking/running, but they have become my everything shoes. I have ditched my hiking shoes and boots in favor of these. They are amazingly grippy and do well in wet conditions and snow. I just ordered 2 additional pairs.

I order the wide version, but I suspect my feet would even be happy in the regular width. They are cushiony, and my feet are oh so happy in them. I was turned onto Hoka's by a friend, and I am so glad I gave them a try. Campsaver has them for a great price. FYI, I have tried other model Hokas, and they did not work well for me. I mention that incase you have tried other models. I am sold on the Speedgoats. I also ordered the goretex version in regular width, but I have not yet tried them. My feet love the wide version, but that width is not offered in all Hokas. I will review the other pair once I have been able to use them.

No complaints. Work as they should

These work as they should. They are brakes. :)

I have not had any issues, and they fit my bindings. They are winder than my skis, but they fit just fine.

I have the G3 Zed bindings. I found the best deal on Campsaver, and they always ship very quickly!

Easy to use-happy with my purchase

I had been waiting until I was able to use these touring. I resort skied just fine and had no issues. I finally took them out and skinned up a resort trail last week but have yet to use them in a true backcountry setting. That may be a while considering the lack of snow.

I am new to touring, so I do not have anything to compare, but I found these user-friendly. My only thing is I need to see how they do switching back to alpine mode. I had issues turning the back heel area, but I think I need to apply pressure then turn. Please note I am a bit new, so this may be second nature to others.

I found it easy to get in, easy to switch heel risers with the flick of my poles. I should also note they released as they should when alpine skiing. I got stuck in some trees and deep powder (and tumbled over :)), and the bindings released as expected.

I sought out these bindings, as I wanted something safe in the backcountry. Something that would stay on when they should and fall off when they should. I did a lot of research and found these to be the safest.

GREAT COAT but not the one for me

Written on Dec 02, 2021

Me- 5'3.5", full C+ bust, 115 lbs, not very muscular at the moment.
XS fit perfectly. I can see what others have mentioned about the bust. I was able to put it on over a hoodie, but I can see how others might prefer a little extra room up top. Small would have likely been fine but not as form-fitted on me.
This is more 4.5 stars. I would have kept the coat if I did not already have an arsenal of winter coats. I was looking for a winter dog-walking bomb-proof coat, and I think my old MH ski coat beats this. That was the sole purpose for me.
If I actually went out in the winter (where people would see me), then this coat would be perfect. It is nice and a flattering fit. I love the hood, and it appears quite warm.
I want to address the supposed zipper issues, as I first thought NO WAY when I tried it. The zipper is fine. You just need to understand how to work it. I messed with it and finally understood after about 10 attempts.
Listen/feel for the zipper to click in, then use the very BOTTOM zipper to initiate the zip. You can then use the top one, and it works perfectly. I was never able to get it to zip up without this process.
The soft liner is very comfy, I love the length (just below my knees).

Cons-it didn't seem to be as warm my Goretex 850 fill MH ski coat, so I will continue to use that as my dog-waling coat. One thing was that I could feel cool air creeping in from the bottom (of course, as it doesn't have a powder skirt. Not intended for skiing :

Flattering fit, great for trim people, not technical

I am 5' 4", 114 lbs. I have smallish hips. The 8 was supposed to be equivalent to an XS. I might find this more like XXS. It still fit me, but it was probably slightly too small around the bottom/thighs. The rest fit very well but not wearing over layers. I suspect the next size up would have fit me like a typical US size XS. This would be a great jacket for those truly tiny people that swim in everything.

I was hoping for a very warm and cute ski coat. It would have been a nice spring coat. The pockets and rest are not made for a real ski coat IMO. They only snap, so you would not want to use them for skiing. It would be a great regular winter coat (thought didn't appear super warm). It doesn't have much insulation/thin which likely attributes to it's nice slim fit.

I would have sized up if I were looking for a cute coat. This would not be a ski coat mainly due to lack of zipped pockets. I am returning, but I think it is a great sale deal.
