Mountain water>Regular water

Written on Jul 03, 2016

The Lifestraw Go is my favorite trail hiking/running accesory hands down. I go on trails in the mountains and have had to carry in lots of heavy water in bladders/bottles which can suck the energy from you quite quickly. Using this product I can now throw this in my backpack pocket and fill it as necessary from whatever stream/creek/pond/river/etc. I come across. I don't have to keep it full if I know I will be hitting more water areas later thus reducing the weight to carry. This is also in my pack no matter what as my "just in case stuff happens" option. I think this product is a must have for any good survival pack. Their is no plastic or chemical aftertaste, though each water source does have it's own unique taste (spoiler, cold mountain creek water will always beat your slightly warmer packed in water). Seriously just get one of these!

Afternoon Daylite

This pack is super light and perfect for day hikes, runs, and biking. The side pockets work fine for me but I do have a caribiner attached to my bottle as well that I attach to the strap just in case. I also have a 2L camelbak that I use in the H2O spot when I am going on longer bike rides/runs that are not near any water sources to use my Lifestraw Go at and it fits perfectly. I have crossed water with the pack and it is not waterproof because of the zippers. It did not get soaking wet inside but wet enough to ruin electronics so make sure to use a dry bag or garbage sack if you have anything that cannot get wet. The back panel is breathable and prevents overheating well. I love this pack and now plan on getting the larger Osprey bags that this is compatible with for more adventures.

Great Trail Shoe

Written on Jun 28, 2016

I live in MT and have only ever hit trails in normal sneakers or in the fall hunting with boots on. I decided to start running trails to get into better shape and see some areas of the state I hadn't seen before. These shoes are lightweight, have great traction, and shed water pretty decently. The traction I get on some of the crazy steep up and downs we have here are a lifesaver. The stone guard also is quite nice and light. The ankle support is good for a low top shoe. I'm used to skate shoes so the zero drop was not anything new for me so I can't comment about that. Also having the built in Velcro for gaiters is a nice addition. Overall after a 12 mile and an 8 mile run through some crazy terrain and multiple water crossings I love these shoes.
