This shell will protect you in extreme conditions! The hood fits around any helmet I've tried and can be snugged down for a tighter fit. There are long side zippers to dump excess heat, along with backpack and harness compatible zippered pockets. Inside, there are pockets for gloves, beanies, etc. The arms are large in diameter which makes it easy to slide over a puffy or mid-layer. I am 6'4" tall, 225#, with a 46"chest. The XXL gives me ample room for layering. If I wanted a tighter fit, the XL would have worked. The arms are also articulated which allows you to swing an ice tool without the jacket riding up.

The Eigerjoch hybrid jacket is not only functional by stylish as well. I’d call it an athletic cut garment. I am 6’4” tall, 225# with a 46” chest. The XXL fits just right! The arms allow you to swing an ice tool above your head without pulling up. Both pockets are climbing harness and backpack compatible. It’s s great mid layer or stand alone in warmer weather.

Black Diamond Standard Dogbone
The BD dogbone is very stout and strong, as it should be. The smaller diameter hole holds the carabiner in place. I’m using this with two locking carabiners. However, it can be used with any combination of biners, whatever suits your needs.
