This is a great jacket for high output activities. It is trim, stretchy, very breathable, and has a simple but helmet compatible hood. These same attributes would make it a poor casual jacket, but I don't think that is the target market.
I use mine for climbing, BC skiing, and MT biking as you can leave it on to cut the wind and keep out light precip or snow without getting super sweaty.
The Rab Vapor Rise Lite is in my opinion the best layer for high output activities in cool to cold weather. It is similar to Marmot DriClime, but the Pertex shell breaths better. I use this primarily for MT biking, alpine climbing, and BC skiing where you sweat a ton on the way up and then chill on the down.
