Great Jacket

Written on Dec 28, 2016

This jacket should be good for well below zero with proper layering and the use of a knit hat. The duck material and quilted lining can keep the winds of Old Man Winter at bay. Two things that bear mentioning are Carhartt sizing in the jacket runs large and the front slash pochets aren't insulated, just the duck material between your hands and the weather. If you can find one to try on locally first, I would. Otherwise I'd probably order one size smaller than your usual. I did (an L instead of an XL) and it fits like a glove with room for layering. CampSaver got it out quickly too. A+ transaction all around.

This Is The Newer KK Model!!

Written on Mar 16, 2016

I will amend this review after I've actually used the product, but for those wondering... This IS the newer tack welded version of the Kelly Kettle that eliminated the problematic (leaking) pop rivets at the handle and chain attachment points, not the older model pictured here. Add a Hobo stove and you should be ready for whatever adventure awaits.

This is a great deal if you want the basic KK without all the pricey add-on equipment.
