I've seen DIY alcohol stoves and seem to be pretty well thought out. The only problem is the materials. WB uses a bit thicker aluminum stock than what you can find in commercially available cans (soda, beer, etc.) so the product as a whole is a bit more sturdy so I don't have to worry about it being crushed. I am still very careful with it, but its compactness allows you to pack it in various pockets or nested in your boil pot. It will boil 2 cups of water in approx. 7.5 min in 50degree weather. Great product!!!!!
I purchased this for my daughter and she loves them. She said the fit is just a bit below perfect. She has a wide fore foot so she feels a bit of pressure along the widest part of her feet. but the material allows for some stretching. She enjoys not getting her feet wet when going through small puddles and creeks. All in all a great boot.
I've been looking at Osprey packs for a while now but did not have the scratch to buy one till I found out about Campsaver!! I was able to afford the Kestrel 48 in my size M/L and when I got it, I immediately packed it with my sleeping and cooking gear and fiddled around with it till I got the perfect pack and I was able to adjust the hip belt, shoulder straps and load lifters to just the right comfort level.. It is very spacious and all my essential gear fits in it. I love all of the extra cranium and side pockets. It even comes with a rain cover. Awesome!!!
