Too good to be true- little loft

I bought this because of the temperature rating (supposedly 32F/0C) and the advertised ability to pack down small.
Well, it can pack smaller than a lot of competing bags, but that's because it has relatively little loft.
My MEC down bag (Raven 0C) rated for the same temperature has almost TWICE the loft (4.25 vs 2.25 inches) as this bag, and is heavier as well.
No magic bullets, no miracle cures.
