Last year I did a lot of research on bear canisters because I was hiking the JMT. I ended up renting one from a company because they carried the largest and lightest. I vowed to buy my own so I'd have something to show for it next time. This one and the largest aren't too far off in weight but very affordable. After receiving it the other I am very happy and ready to hike anywhere where they are required. I will be purchasing the larger size in the near future. www.letsgohikeit.com
My initial impression of this piece of gear is that it's a good solid value. The material is stout and should provide many years of good use. I can't wait to take it out - I'll be sure to give my updated opinion on letsgohikeit.com.
I recently took my new Synmat UL 9 to Max Patch on the Appalachian Trail and it worked flawlessly. The temps at night ranged from about 20 to 25 but I didn't notice one bit. I am a restless sleeper but didn't bottom out once. This thing is amazing and I will give more reviews on it at www.letsgohikeit.com
