Very comfy and carries well at 40lbs.

I have used this pack now for two different trips. I bought it to be used as a winter pack but I have also used it on a two-nighter in the summer. The first trip I had it at around 30lbs TPW. It was about 15lbs food so while it carried with no problem I found that a smaller volume pack would have been better when carrying that much food. My 2nd trip I used it snowshoeing. I had it loaded up with 2 nights of food, safety equipment, and overall heavier gear than I normally use do to the weather conditions. The total weight on the first day was around 40lbs. This is pushing the max limit for the pack but I felt I could have pushed it a little further still. It carried very well and I had no pain due to the pack. We hiked for about 2 hours and encountered mostly flat terrain with 1-2 steep hills. The pack felt comfortable on both flat terrain and the steep hills. The exterior pockets are great for holding easy access gear and food as well as snow camping gear like shovels, adjustable poles, etc. I plan to use this pack in the summer for canoe tripping and backpacking. With what I experience I have from it now, I have no concern about it being durable enough for the job.
