Really liked this one and wanted to keep. Also purchased the other Scapa lightweight hiker, the Maverick, and much preferred the Rush. Tried both in a 43.and a 43.5 Boot appears to be a 1/2 size too small per its European origin. Only the 43.5 was long enough, but the narrow toe box was/is just too uncomfortable. This apparently is a common characteristic across the Scarpa and makes their boots unwearable for me. I have always wore a Medium shoe, but now on a Bannock device my foot measures EE width. My foot has spread out with age (74) requiring a longer length and a wider foot box.
The Rab sizing chart showed sleeve length in an XL Rab jacket to be 36 inches, but in the Quest jacket it was 38 inches. Never had this problem with other Rab jacket sleeve lengths. Had to return it.
This was my second Variant jacket. The first jacket was very comfortable, but the Polartec sleeves badly pilled on the underside of both arms from shoulder to cuff. The new Variant I just purchased differs in one respect: it has thumb holds in each cuff - a feature my old Variant jacket lacks. I prefer it without the thumb holds which makes the sleeves slightly longer. After seeing the jacket, I decided it was overpriced and returned it.
The only Montane fleece I could wear. Everything else in fleece was too trim a fit. Super soft. Great feel in a regular fit Montane calls Classic Mountain.
Montane's active mountain fit was too trim a cut for me. It was too tight in the chest. Not for men with stocky builds. Had to return it and go with the Wolf jacket which was Montane's regular fit fleece called Classic Mountain.
Loved the material, but this is Montane's Active Mountain fit. It was simply too tight a fit in the chest. Not for men with stocky builds. With reluctance I had to return it.
A high quality product I really liked and would highly recommend. However, the jacket is Montane's trimmest fit called Athletic Mountain and is just too tight in the chest for me to wear comfortably. With reluctance I had to return it and never had the chance to put it to the test.
Simple to use. Sturdy and durable. Solid, steady beam - very bright. Great for camping and everyday use. Have yet to find any flaws in the design or operation.
