I am pleased with the lightweight and minimalist design of the shoe. The Vibram Megagrip outsole is versatile and useful for remote and variable conditions. Although these shoes are Gore-Tex, they are breathable and regulate the temperature inside the shoe well. It's the best of both worlds! These shoes were comfortable for my first hike, and I didn't notice the standard "new" feel. They felt like a pair of hiking shoes I had already broken in. There was minimal friction, and I didn't have any blisters or pain throughout my hike. I would recommend this shoe to anyone that needs a breathable, comfortable, durable, and versatile hiking shoe.
This sleeping pad compacts away easily into the stuff sack, and it is just as easy to pull it out and inflate with the manual pump provided. The pad is rated for backpacking; although I will mention it is not the lightest and most compact sleeping pad I have used. The Trail Boss sleeping pad is great for winter or for someone that sleeps a little colder. The material is durable and puncture resistant; my dog ran across the pad multiple times without causing any damage. Most importantly it was very comfy to sleep on. The larger chambers on the outside keep you cradled in the middle of the pad. I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking out a versatile pad.
Upon first impressions, I enjoyed the soft fabric of the Daisy Mae, and the flex pad sleeve system. The sleeve system fits over a sleeping pad, keeps the user-centered, and keeps everything from getting tangled. The only con to this sleeping bag was that I was freezing all night. Even though I was sleeping on an insulated, winter pad and this bag is rated for fifteen degrees. I will compliment the shape of the bag - it was roomy and spacious; even in the toe box. I also enjoyed how the contoured silhouette drapes the insulation around your entire body; preventing common cold spots.
